Mandalorian was Star Wars Universe properties’ first live-action series introduced by Disney+ and the best series after Empire. The two seasons gave the fans some of the best Star Wars in years, and we can't help but rank the best episodes of Mandalorian.

Synopsis:

The season finale of Mandalorian Season 2 gave a roller coaster emotion and unexpected finish to Din and Grogu. The Mandalorian and his allies board Moff Gideon's ship, and the battle with each Dark Trooper was very nerve-wrecking. 

In the end, Din reveals his face to Grogu and bid an emotional farewell before Luke Skywalker and the Jedi train Grogu.  

Reception:

The action sequences are breath-taking, emotional, and well enjoyed by the viewers. It was labeled the perfect episode from start to finish and received a high 95% score from a site review. 

Awards:

The season finale of Mandalorian 2 took home the Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score) and Outstanding Stunt Performance from the Primetime Emmy Awards 2021 [1].

Synopsis:

Redemption is one of the best episodes in the Mandalorian, where IG-11 steals the show by rescuing Baby Yoda from the two scout troopers. Still, IG-11 sacrificed himself to help others get away. 

In addition, the fight between Mando and Gideon is spectacular, and it ends with Gideon using the darksaber to get away with Mando's tie fighter. 

Reception:

Chapter 8 is one of the best in the two seasons of Mandalorian, and it was rated 98% in a website review.

Awards:

The Redemption received the Outstanding Music Composition for a Series from the Primetime Emmy Awards 2020 and was nominated in Hugo Awards 2020.

Synopsis:

Din traveled to planet Corvus and offered a Beskar Spear to take out Ahsoka Tano, played by Rosario Dawson. Ahsoka Tano revealed Baby Yoda's name to be Grogu, and Din wants Ahsoka to train the Child. However, she informs him to find another Jedi Master to train and tap Grogu's real potential through the force. 

Reception:

The Jedi is one of the best episodes full of one-on-one fights, making the episode highly recommendable for all Star Wars fans. It is ranked fourth in a company streaming program. 

Awards:

Chapter 13: The Jedi accepted the awards of Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography, Drama Episode in Gold Derby Awards 2021, Outstanding Sound Mixing, and Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup in Emmy's.

4. Chapter 3: The Sin

Synopsis:

The Sin is one incredible episode in the first season where Mando's first encounter with the Empire. A rescue mission turned into a full-blown conflict between fellow Mandalorians and Stormtroopers when Mando decided to get the Child back. 

As Mando returns for the Child, he starts to change for the better and becomes the protector of the Child, and their bond develops. 

Reception:

The perfect balance of fighting scenes, the Mandalorian backstory, and crucial information about the darksaber gained a 95% approval rating on a movie review website. 

Awards:

The team took home the Outstanding Model in a Photoreal or Animated Project and was nominated in Emmy's.

Synopsis:

This chapter from the first season is a bottle episode where Mando joins an unrecognized crew to rescue a prisoner of the New Republic. The prison breakout runs smooth however, Mando has been betrayed by the motley crew. Good thing, he managed to escape the doublecross with the ship intact. 

Reception:

This chapter holds a roughly 83% approval rating from an American review website for film and television. The episode has fun moments but needs a little forward momentum. 

Awards:

The Prisoner was nominated in Primetime Emmy Award 2020 for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup and Outstanding Virtual Cinematography.

Synopsis:

For the first episode of Mandalorian, Mando is a bounty hunter who accepted a mysterious commission from a client. In return to this is a container full of beskar used to create Mandalorian armor

After the face-off between Mando and IG-88, he discovered that the package was not contraband but Baby Yoda. It is also the debut appearance of Carl Weathers as Greef.  

Reception:

The pilot chapter is a great episode with a high approval rating not lower than 90% from an American television review website. Director Dave Filoni successfully established the spirit and the setting for the whole season. 

Awards:

The episode received Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Program (Half-Hour), Outstanding Sound Editing in Emmy's, Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing in Motion Pictures.

7. Chapter 14: The Tragedy

7. Chapter 14: The Tragedy

Synopsis:

After following Ashoka's guidance for Mando to take Baby Yoda to the Seeing Stone to meditate and reach out to the Jedi Master, the titular tragedy will happen. Moff Gideon with the Dark troopers will follow closely and kidnaps the Child, so Mando needs help. 

The armor of Boba Fett was stolen. Boba Fett arrives and to convince him to help recover Grogu, Mando promises to return the armor to Boba Fett. It is an important episode you should check out.

Reception:

The 14th chapter received a very high approval rating of 98% from a trusted review aggregator. The best episode is action-packed and creates an emotional stirring in the audience courtesy to its director, Robert Rodriguez. 

Awards:

Chapter 14 was nominated in Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America 2021 for Best Dramatic Presentation. 

8. Chapter 7: The Reckoning

Synopsis:

The Reckoning is the first season's introduction to grater tapestry, where Mando's chance encounters with IG-88, Cara Dune, and Kuiil will pay off. It is also the debut of Moff Gideon to the Star Wars fans. The villain showed off his prowess and ruthlessness to capture the Child. 

Reception:

The 7th chapter of Mandalorian received critical acclaim and a high approval rating of not lower than 97%. 

Awards:

The production won the Emmys for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series.

Synopsis:

Chapter 15 is a season opener that revolves around rescuing Grogu from the hands of the Dark Troopers. With the help of Mayfield, they can track down Gideon's ship. Mando's squad will disguise and break into an imperial base and mess hall to rescue the Child. 

In addition, the penultimate episode also features something about the redemption arc for Migs Mayfield. 

Reception:

The believer receives a score of 88% on a website's review in America. It has a great build-up for the season-ender. 

Awards: 

The team took home the Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series from the Emmys.

Synopsis:

The second season climax started to build up in this chapter, where it involves multiple great heists. The team is set to destroy an old imperial base when they discover Moff Gideon's dangerous experiments with cloning. It also includes a silly Grogu subplot where he was sent to school where he became blue French macarons. 

Reception:

The chapter received the critical acclaim of 91% approval rating. It has the most significant episode and effortlessly evokes the icon of the series, thanks to Jon Favreau.

The chapter was nominated in Emmy's for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.

Synopsis:

This chapter is the first-in-person appearance of Bo-Katan Kryze and her jetpacking glory. She appeared multiple times in the animated Clone Wars, and in this chapter, she introduces the difference between the Ideologies and Mandalorians. Her debut in Star Wars as a Mandalorian heiress is incredibly remarkable. 

Reception:

This chapter has an approval rating of 98% from a review website about film and television. The chapter has an action-packed installment that made the audience watching crave for more. 

Awards:

The Heiress has been nominated for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series in Emmy's. 

12. Chapter 9: The Marshal

Synopsis:

In this chapter, The Mandalorians seeks the help of God Koresh to reunite with the Child. He is then reunited with mechanic Peli Motto and meets with the town's Marshal, Cobb Vanth. The Marshal revealed that he is not a Mandalorian and just bought the armor from Jawas. 

The Mandalorian agreed to team up with Tusken Raiders to kill the dragon, hoping that Vanth would give up the armor. 

Reception:

Based on a review-aggregated website in America, this episode scores almost 95% in its approval rating. It has a surprising twist with tons of turbo-loaded action, filling the gap from one episode to another. 

Awards:

The casts were nominated in Emmy's for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series and Outstanding Directing.

Synopsis:

Most fans remember the scenario where Grogu almost ate an entire family of dying species of Frog Lady. Grogu's obsession with the eggs of Frog Lady is unsettling to see since he eats species that are an endangered population. 

Reception:

With its storyline, The Passenger gathered an overall rating of roughly 80% as viewers find the plot one-off story and more frustrating than fun but leave a good spot for the next season. 

Awards:

There were no nominations nor awards received for this chapter. 

14. Chapter 4: Sanctuary

Synopsis:

Bryce Dallas Howard directs Sanctuary, and this is the chapter where Cara Dune will be introduced. The storyline revolves around the Sanctuary for the Child in Sorgran and a local village to protect. Cara Dune and Din will create an AT-ST for the village's defense and train all those capable. 

Din discussed with Omera the reason why he does not want to remove his helmet. At the end of the episode, an attempted assassination happened when a hunter managed to track him and Grugo. 

Reception:

The chapter scores an approval rating of roughly 88% on a film review website since the big action-set has a clean and precise conclusion and can be emotionally satisfying. 

Awards:

Sanctuary was nominated for Best Edited Drama Series and Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing. 

15. Chapter 5: The Gunslinger

15. Chapter 5: The Gunslinger

Synopsis:

The Gunslinger revolves around Jake Cannavale, the bounty hunter that Mandalorian defeated in a dogfight. However, the Razor Crest was damaged on an ice planet, so Mando lands in a reair facility in Tatooine. 

Peli then begins to take care of the Child grows slightly fond of it while working on the imperial ship.

Reception:

A website gave an approval rating of about 73% to this chapter. It also became one of the least good in the entire episode of the Mandalorian because it lacked forward momentum and had plenty of fan service moments. 

Awards:

The Gunslinger, unfortunately, does not receive any awards or nominations. 

16. Chapter 2: The Child

Synopsis:

The second episode of the Mandalorian is all about the origins of attachment between Mando and the Child. You will get a glimpse of the Child's purpose and true power. Mudhorn is going after Mando, but Grogu suspends the beast in the mid-air. However, since his power is untrained, Grogu collapses. 

Reception:

The Child was given an average rating of 92% of a website that reviews movies and tv series. The episode answers few questions but makes the chapter intriguing and satisfying. 

Awards:

The Child won Outstanding Sound Mixing, Outstanding Special Visual Effects in Emmy's, and Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Episode in VES.
