If you think about it, The Golden Girls and cross-stitch are two things that were kind of made for each other: they’re both delightful, a bit snarky sometimes, a touch old school, and can make you laugh out loud when you least expect it. Pretty perfect, right? So, whether you grew up watching The Golden Girls or you discovered the joys of not-quite-retirement Miami much more recently, this cross-stitch kit is for you! Patterns included in this kit include: Rose, Dorothy, Blanche, and Sophia with "Thank You for Being a Friend"; "Shady Pines, Ma!" with trees; Sophia portrait with "Picture It…Sicily!"; Blanche portrait, a lipstick, and hearts with "Flirting is Part of My Heritage"; Rose and bananas with "The Older You Get, the Better You Get. Unless You're a Banana."; Hearts, palm trees, and flamingos with "East Dirt and Die, Trash."; Dorothy on the phone with "No! No, I Will Not Have a Nice Day."; Rose and Sophia with "Have I Given You Any Indication at All That I Care?"; "As They Say in St. Olaf…"; Shoes, lipsticks, and mirror with "My beauty has always been a curse."; "Dorothy & Rose & Blanche & Sophia"; The Girls with "Everything I Know I Learned from Rose, Blanche, Dorothy & Sophia".
Sample Instructions: Prepare your fabric, mark your center, and place the fabric in your embroidery hoop as described in the "Getting Started" section. (If this is your first project, you can learn how to read a cross-stitch pattern and how to cross-stitch in that section as well). Starting with two strands of embroidery floss, work your way through one section of color at a time, ensuring all your stitches cross in the same direction. To finish, complete Sofie's glasses and the lettering using backstitch. If you like a bolder look for these letters, feel free to use three strands of embroidery floss instead of two.
