  • Description
  • Details
Despite the fact that the Angels finished 21 games out of first place in the AL West, Mike Trout earned his second career MVP award, as he finished 45 vote points ahead of Mookie Betts. Trout becomes the first member of a non-Postseason entrant to win the AL MVP since Alex Rodriguez did so in 2003. Trout also has now finished in the top two of the MVP voting in each of his first five full seasons of play, something no other player has done to start their career in MLB history.
