At Toynk.com, we have a great selection of some of the next generation of battle toys. Shop for Transformer figures and their accessories for traditional one-on-one hand combat. But if you don't want to risk bloody knuckles, check out the futuristic robot figures that take the concept of Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots to the next level. Each robot battle takes place in a ring, but instead of unleashing your bot's power using your fists of fury to pull a trigger attached to the ring, this next generation of battling robots gets a bit more technical. These days, you use a remote control to operate the motion-activated bots. The fact that they are no longer anchored to a ring also means you can arrange to take on several opponents at once. Some sets even include booby-traps in the ring, making it just that little bit more difficult.
Battling tops are reborn as Beyblades, the sexier, hipper version of classic spinning top table games. Collectible shoppers of a certain age will recall they days when you had to wind a string around your tops and launch them onto a platform. Last top standing, naturally, wins that round. Toys like Beyblades, which were developed in the early 2000s, takes the same concept, but simply makes it look much cooler. These ain't your daddy's tops! Players load their tops into handheld launchers, which winds them up. Players then pull a plastic ripcord and launch them into a battle ring or directly onto the table.
You might be thinking, okay, so they changed the launching mechanism. How is this different, exactly? The original battling tops were standard across the board, differentiated only by color. Beyblades have all sorts of accessories and add-ons that make them far more customizable. They come in all sorts of colors and designs so there's never any question about who's top is tops!
